When I was asked to complete an article about one of our core values, it was a natural choice to select “
we are accountable.” I believe that accountability is something that is internally motivating to see something to completion. Accountability is not telling someone what to do; accountability is how we demonstrate trust within our teams, how we bring our successes/strengths to the center stage, and accountability is needed to do the important work we do at InVision.
Since joining the InVision team in May of 2024, there has been a high level of accountability needed in my current role as Director of Clinical Operations to support the larger agency-wide goals associated with Performance Based Contracting. Accountability is defined as an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions. For those that we support, we have to be accountable to not only their ISP goals and outcomes, but also their care.
One of the first initiatives I worked on in my role was to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) process. This process aimed at supporting accountability for our internal teams, but also helping to identify and hold accountability externally. The process allows for enhanced visibility into various teams, supports moving individual-specific care needs to the forefront, and helps to accomplish the person supported’s goals.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to highlight this important value. Accountability is essential for InVision’s team members of all levels to uphold to ensure our success as an organization. In my work with InVision so far, I am hopeful that my interactions with my colleagues have left an impression of accountability and inspired others to do the same.
