2023 Recap: Foundation Funded

2023 Recap: Foundation Funded

In honor of January being National Thank You Month—an observance dedicated to appreciating the help of others and showing gratitude—InVision Foundation would like to take this time to show our appreciation for our organizational and individual donors from the past year. The contributions and generosity of those who donate allow for InVision Foundation to provide opportunities for the people we support that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.

InVision Foundation raises money to support the development of person-driven services for those supported by our organization, offering a wide range of funds and grants. Looking back on 2023, we have much to be thankful for, as it was a successful year of providing the people we serve with necessary funding and meaningful experiences.

Community Connections

Through the Foundation’s Community Connections Fund, people we support from across the state had the opportunity to attend a Pittsburgh Panthers basketball game, a Philadelphia Flower Show, the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, a Riverhounds game, a day at Kennywood, a day at Knoebels, and the Kennywood Holiday Lights display. Along with these events, the Foundation utilized Community Connections funding to support our Spring dinner, Spring Fling, Fall Fest, Trunk-or-Treat, Thanksgiving gatherings, and our Glittering Green and Gold Holiday Party events.

Greatest Need

The Greatest Need Fund is designed to provide support for sudden or urgent needs that will have an immediate impact. Over the past year, Greatest Need funding was awarded to seven people supported—covering costs for things such as winter clothing, an indestructible kitchen table and chairs, a new bed with a mattress and box spring, an adjustable bed frame, emergency financial needs, and emergency medical procedures.

Meaningful Lives

The Meaningful Lives Fund allows the people we support to enjoy hobbies, arts, recreations, entertainment, travel, and vacation. In 2023, Meaningful Lives funding supported a trip to Florida, Ashley’s trip to New York City and the American Girl Doll Store, as well as provided over a dozen tickets to the WWE Payback show.

Personal Enrichment

Personal Enrichment grants enhance entrepreneurial projects, initiatives, or programs connected to living a purposeful life or pursuing growth. Through the Foundation’s Personal Enrichment granting process, InVision supported the publication of a book by a person supported, the purchasing of a basketball hoop, and two Kennywood season passes.

Additional Programs

Alongside the Foundation’s gifting and grant opportunities, funding from our donors was used to support our Birthday Bonanza program, which allowed 143 people supported to celebrate their birthdays in a way of their choosing. Additionally, 28 individuals received gifts through the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Giving Tree, and an additional 16 received gifts through the Foundation.

Thank You to our Donors!

On behalf of all of us at InVision, we thank our individual, Foundation, corporate, vendor, and government donors for their partnership and for helping make these initiatives possible! We are exceptionally grateful for the support of our donor community.
