Celebrating the Women of InVision

 0
In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day in 2024, we shared an article highlighting the women in leadership at InVision, discussing their invaluable contributions to our organization. As a continuation of this commemoration of International Women’s Day in 2025, we want to take this time to feature women of various positions at InVision for their accomplishments both within our organization and outside of the office. Without further ado, let’s dive into the profiles of a few more of the amazing women at InVision!

Erin Osborne, Director of Learning and Development

This month, Erin Osborne, Director of Learning and Development (L&D) at InVision, is celebrating the milestone of five years with our organization; having begun her tenure in 2020. Within her role, Erin oversees the L&D department, as well as partnerships with external stakeholders in support of employee performance and engagement initiatives. In addition to her role as a director, Erin acts as the Chair of InVision’s Employee Engagement Committee – a group of team members from all departments dedicated to enhancing company culture through increased engagement.

Prior to joining the InVision team, Erin’s professional experience focused on leadership and talent development, organizational development strategies, change management practices, regulatory educational requirements, and employee lifecycle experience. As a senior collaborative partner in the learning and talent development space, Erin has displayed her expertise at InVision through the creation, development, and implementation of various projects centered around our organization’s culture and people development.

These projects include the roll out of our Guiding Principles, enhancing onboarding procedures, leadership development, and spearheading growth opportunities for our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Front Line Supervisors (FLS) through the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). Most recently, Erin and the Employee Engagement Committee hosted a Kindness Month initiative throughout February; encouraging our team members to promote intentional kindness to one another and the people we support.

“I strive to make a positive impact for our company and our employees through talent programs I oversee,” Erin shared. “At InVision, we are always striving to be better and accomplish this by reviewing what we’ve done in the past and adjust as needed. This demonstrates our guiding principles in action to fulfill our mission.”

Outside of the office, Erin loves to cook and strives for home-cooked family sit down meals multiple times a week. Erin and her husband have been together for over two decades, and are parents to their two children, and their family pets of two cats – Archie and Asher – and their golden doodle named Super Mario Lemieux.

Lori Bahorich, Learning and Development Manager

Lori Bahorich began her career with InVision in August of 2009; marking a tenure of over 15 years. Having held a multitude of position titles throughout the years, Lori joined InVision as a program supervisor and was later promoted to roles such as clinical specialist and training and referral manager – evolving into her current position of the past four years, Learning and Development manager.

In Lori’s current multi-faceted role, she is responsible for developing annual plans for orientation and customized training plans for all staff. With a wealth of knowledge for our training system, Lori works closely with team members from both our eastern and western regions; providing support for NADSP certification needs, training compliance, overseeing L&D trainers, and partnering with other departments to foster collaboration. Most recently, Lori helped to create and finalize a new DSP onboarding format that was implemented for the first time at the end of February.

Lori’s professional experience over the years has constructed the foundation of a long-term advocate for people who experience disabilities; with 40 years of experience working with children and adults who face mental health challenges or experience intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Prior to starting her career journey with InVision, Lori established her professional experience working as a nursing assistant in a psychiatric facility, substitute teaching, therapeutic support, counseling for at-risk youth, and family therapy. Throughout the vast majority of these previous positions, Lori played an active role in ongoing education and training for new employees during the onboarding process.

“I have always loved InVision’s approach to supporting the people in our services,” Lori said. “Being person-centered and seeing each person live the life they want to live brings me joy. I love working with others for shared outcomes, meeting new people, and celebrating success. The L&D team bring so much experience to the table and do a great job of supporting our employees.”

In her personal life, Lori has been happily married for over 31 years and is a mother to two daughters and their loving partners, has two grandsons, and a golden retriever named Charlie. During their off time, Lori and her husband enjoy traveling to beaches and national parks. Lori also enjoys reading, home projects, taking Charlie on walks, and spending time with her friends and family.

Cheryl Travis, Human Resources Manager

In November of 2010, InVision gained an invaluable team member in the Human Resources (HR) department – Cheryl Travis. Cheryl was hired as an HR recruiter in the eastern region, and when InVision began to see tremendous growth as an organization, the HR department expanded Cheryl’s role into that of an HR Manager.

Before her tenure with our organization, Cheryl had many professional experiences that fashioned her excellence within her current role. After college, Cheryl’s first job was as a DSP, which eventually transitioned to a program director role within the same company. When encountered with the irreplicable experience of coaching women’s fast-pitch softball at the colligate level, Cheryl stepped away from her work in the human services industry for some time; eventually moving into an HR management role within women’s sports. Making her way back into human services 14 years ago, Cheryl then came to InVision.

Accompanying her role as HR manager, Cheryl leads InVision’s new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee. She is also a member of the administrative review team that works closely with our compliance specialists, and acts as a member of the Retirement Committee which supports the development and implementation of our 401k plans.

While Cheryl is local to InVision’s eastern office, her HR duties extend company-wide. Overseeing tasks such as benefits, recruiting, employee relations functions, and performance management, Cheryl utilizes the skills of the HR team to ensure staff from all departments – and InVision itself – are set up for success and equipped with the information, programs, and support needed to thrive.

Noting all of the wonderful people she has come to know through InVision, Cheryl’s favorite part about working with InVision is learning from our personnel of team members and people supported. The diverse backgrounds, cultures, and communities of the people we support and our team members alike allow us to come together for a common purpose that allows us as an organization to generate creative solutions and see more possibilities.

“Our mission inspires me,” Cheryl shared. “When I used to recruit for InVision, in every interview I would talk to the candidate, despite the position of interest, about the necessity of finding how they connect to and attach themselves to the mission. My advice was that if you end up working here, you will be working with passionate people, so find your passion about what we do and bring it to work with you.”

Outside of InVision, Cheryl is a mom to her son and his wife, has two grandchildren, and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Teagan. Cheryl loves sports and is a die-hard Eagles fan. She is active in keeping up with women’s and men’s sports including college basketball, WNBA, and softball. She also enjoys cooking and grilling and loves to read – especially psychological thrillers.

Marie Palmer, Program Manager, Community-Based Programs

Marie Palmer came to InVision in January of 2012, and has been an incredible asset to InVision since. Starting out as a DSP, Marie has held a variety of roles within our organization – including team leader and program supervisor – that have made way for her to excel as a Program Manager, supervising our Community-Based Programs for the past eight years.

As an umbrella of services that include our Community Supports and Employment Supports programs, InVision’s Community-Based Programs provide customized services to the people we support – addressing individual goals and needs, encouraging meaningful community connections, and identifying and maintaining employment opportunities. Within her current role, Marie manages program operations, provides support to InVision’s direct support staff and frontline supervisors, ensures staff stay up-to-date on changes, compliance, ongoing initiatives, and more. Additionally, Marie is a member of the Employee Engagement Committee, and is active in planning Community Connections events centered around the people we support.

Throughout her experience acting as a primary care provider to a family member with a quadriplegic disability during her high school years, and holding various positions at InVision, Marie has become paramount to our Community-Based Programs at InVision. Recognized across the organization for her unwavering dedication to the people we support and her colleagues alike, Marie’s contributions to our programs and the lives of the people we support are unmeasurable. Marie’s many accomplishments spanning the duration of her tenure with InVision extend both personally and professionally; as she graduated with a degree in Psychology from Chatham University and raised her daughter all while maintaining a full-time workload.

Marie has been instrumental in supporting the implementation and monitoring of the systems used throughout our programs, and collaborating with external organizations to develop materials and exams for employment supports professionals. Most recently, Marie joined Director of Community-Based Programs, Randy Dicks, in presenting and conducting training sessions centered around employment supports approaches on both a national and international scale.

“My favorite part about working with InVision is our commitment to consistent growth and improvement; for the people we support, our team members, and as an organization,” Marie stated.

Outside of her work, Marie has a daughter, and is a pet parent of four horses, two dogs, and their recent addition to the family, a rescued kitten. Marie actively trains and competes in horse triathlons, cross fit, and marathons – having completed half marathons in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky, and Utah; with the goal of completing one in every state. She also enjoys cooking new healthy recipes she discovers on Pinterest.

While we celebrate the women at InVision for their contributions to our organization, we also want to call out the incredible accomplishments each of these women have achieved in their personal lives. We are beyond grateful to have such dedicated and talented women on our team, and value who they are as individuals, as team members, and for who they are outside of the office. Thank you, Erin, Lori, Cheryl, and Marie – InVision appreciates you for all you do!
