In Memoriam of Those We Lost in 2024

 0

As we approach the new year, we pause to honor and remember the people we support at InVision who have sadly passed away in 2024. Their spirit has left a lasting impact on our entire organization. Please join us in celebrating the lives of those we have lost this year.

Christina DiIorio

Christina DiIorio was supported by InVision Human Services since June 2022. She was known for her love of cards, Connect Four, music, and animals. Christina’s playful humor and caring personality brought joy to all who knew her. She enjoyed attending InVision events, where she won Best Costume at the 2023 Trunk or Treat in Wexford. Christina will be deeply missed by her supportive family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Darrel Keer

Darrel Keer, supported by InVision since January 2012, had a passion for music and was lovingly known as “DJ DK.” Darrel brought life to Reading office events with his music and his fun-loving spirit. Known as “the King,” Darrel was a beloved figure who could always bring a smile to those around him. His wish of starting fresh in a new home was realized in 2022, and his staff recall him crying happy tears when move-in day had finally arrived. He faced his battle with cancer with courage and grace, and his legacy will be cherished by the InVision family.

Geoffrey Moran

Geoffrey Moran came to InVision Human Services in June 2017. Geoffrey had a gentle soul and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved holiday decorations and had a heart for advocacy, always championing causes close to him. InVision Behavior Specialist, Gina Ventresca, attended the funeral and burial services and noted how peaceful Geoffrey looked and how deeply he was respected by the staff. She went on to say, “DSPs from all three blocks of our team showed their support by attending the service, speaking in his honor, and serving as pallbearers; a testament to the strong connections Geoffrey had fostered.” Geoffrey’s warmth and compassion were felt by all, and he will be fondly remembered by all from his time at InVision.

Steven Canavan

Steven Canavan, supported by InVision since January 2010, was cherished for his kindness and dedication. He was taken from us too soon after a battle with ALS. Steven had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed activities like boating, baseball games, and deep-sea fishing – winning the Blue Mountain Annual Fishing Event multiple times. He treasured summers with his family at pool parties and had a special connection with animals, especially cats. Steven’s joyful spirit and love of life will always be remembered by his staff and family.

InVision is grateful to have known Christina, Darrel, Geoffrey, and Steven and for the contributions they made and profound impacts they had on us all. They will be deeply missed, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones.
