Nursing is a difficult yet rewarding career path that has an undeniable positive impact on anyone seeking medical assistance. Nurses are essential to the medical field, as they work to ensure their patients’ needs are met with proper care and communication as the bridge between patients, doctors, and family members.
During the month of May each year, the
American Nurses Association recognizes and honors the contributions of nurses worldwide through a weeklong observance of
National Nurses Week. As we commemorate Nurses Week from May 6 through May 12 this year, we want to express our gratitude to InVision’s licensed practical nurses (LPNs) for their diligence, compassion, and exceptional contributions to
InVision Behavioral Health (IBH) and InVision Health Services.
Our IBH nurses work alongside our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and therapists to provide the people InVision supports with customized behavioral and mental health services unique to their needs, following the collaborative care model. Nurses within InVision Health Services are responsible for the collaboration of comprehensive and individualized health plans that cover the physical and medical needs of the people we support within our Residential Program. As such, all our nurses play a huge role in enhancing the overall health, wellness, and quality of life for those we support.
InVision is incredibly grateful for our nurses and their display of pronounced passion for their job duties and the people we support. As four of our five current nurses at InVision are new to our organization, we want to take this time to introduce them.
Similarly to last year – to help us celebrate Nurses Week 2024 – our nurses shared more about themselves, their careers, their passions, and their insight into what it means to be a nurse at InVision.

What’s your favorite thing about being a nurse?
Meeting new people! I believe there’s so much beauty in the differences we have as humans. From culture, beliefs and simply being individual. People look at nurses and expect to learn from us, but I love to learn from the people we serve just as much! Being able to show up for others and make even the slightest of a difference in someone’s life is fulfilling for me.

I believe you truly have a heart to work in this profession. For me, the meaning of being a nurse is to advocate, be compassionate and willing to understand regardless of our personal opinion.

Nursing shortage. I have been lucky with InVision with not experiencing this but more often than not as nurses we are overworked due to the lack of nurses.
